I have been wanting to introduce the latest addition to our family here on my blog for a while now and here it is finally in all it’s simple newborn baby cuteness!
“You’re an IDIOT !”
The words hit deep and hard in the heart of my precious seven-year old.
I saw his pain and recognised it for what it was. This was one of those important moments in parenting. The kind you don’t want to stuff up. A pivotal learning opportunity… and I prayed I’d have the right words to say.
The words that bubbled out of my mouth ended up surprising even me! It was certainly a teachable moment … but what I wasn’t expecting was that the lesson was intended for me, and YOU too !
Well we FINALLY got here! Twelve weeks pregnant today! Woo Hoo! Baby number three! I am so amazed and feel so very very blessed. This has been a tiresome journey (but totally worth the wait of course). Today I would like to share with you a bit about this journey and my struggles with getting pregnant due to Poly Cystic Ovaries, and basically why I am especially super excited and thankful for this precious gift of life.
I have said them and thought them so many times this week I have lost count! Always striving but then apologising. Having not reached the mark I had set for myself. But then…… three simple words that I really needed to hear arrived on my phone screen ….. and perhaps you need to hear these words today too.
Like many mums out there, I am a stay at home mum. We live on a single income so our family budget is tight and it doesn’t really leave room for gym membership or expensive classes. But I have come to realise exercise is important to make time for so I have had to get creative. I like variety and I have been motivated in the last year to find kid friendly and budget friendly options that are fun and motivating for both me AND my children.
Today I have put together some practical steps of what has worked for me to get active with small children in tow (a one year old and a four year old to be exact). These are my top tips for other mums wanting to do the same….
It is a careful balancing act being a mum and a wife and, well, remembering to just be me too sometimes. But having my precious family around me enriches my life in so many ways. I have discovered walking in step with each one looks and feels very different as their unique personalities and needs unfold. Let me introduce them to you….
