I have had to draw a lot of lines in the sand lately and it’s been really hard. Saying no, setting limits, making a stand….. and worrying a lot what people might think.
Christmas is such a wonderful time of year but I find the stress of finding the perfect gift often clouds the joy this season brings for people. We all want to be a great gift giver and be the one that gives the best present of all. This year I am reflecting on a wonderful gift I received this year and why it is so special.
Life with three kids.
It’s proving to be a little more hectic than I expected.
I need to download…..
My body has been put through the ringer this term with several large mysterious lumps appearing quite suddenly in my abdomen. One of them being the size of a tennis ball! But it hasn’t been all bad, in fact, strangely I have quite enjoyed the whole experience and I am looking forward to telling you why.
This Wednesday night my family had a really special opportunity to join a church for their “Stroll through Bethlehem” outreach event by posing as Mary and Joseph with our seven week old baby girl wrapped up as baby Jesus. The whole experience came to life for me in a surprising way that has helped me realise how much we, as mums, can relate to Mary and be thankful for what God has done for us.
Life can take an unexpected turn at any time in any of our lives. The things we are focussing on and doing in this present moment in time, that seem so very important, can all come to a sudden halt.
Our perspective shifts.
Our priorities drastically change and survival mode sets in…..
That’s what happened to me recently and today I take some time to reflect on what has got me through.
